Trump Has Plunged Headfirst Into War – DAWA Statement on War on Iran

The United States, under Donald Trump, has once again plunged headfirst into war. This time against Iran – continuing a pattern of unchecked military aggression that has spanned the globe. This is not a defensive action; it is a deliberate escalation that risks catastrophic consequences for millions.

As of now, the US is actively engaged in large-scale military operations against Iran, with thousands of strikes already carried out and no defined end in sight. The administration has overseen a massive military buildup in the region and continues to expand its campaign, bringing the world closer to a broader regional war.

This war did not emerge in a vacuum. It follows joint US/Israeli strikes that ignited the current conflict and triggered retaliatory attacks across the Middle East. The close coordination between the United States and Israel underscores a dangerous reality –– US foreign policy is increasingly entangled in, and driven by conflicts aligned with Israeli military objectives, regardless of the cost to global stability or human life.

We reject this trajectory entirely.

We reject the normalization of endless war, sold to the public under shifting justifications and vague threats. We reject the idea that the United States must insert itself militarily into every geopolitical conflict, especially those escalated or encouraged by allied powers. And we reject the reckless expansion of violence that places civilians – both abroad and at home – at risk.

The consequences are already unfolding: rising civilian casualties, attacks on critical infrastructure and global economic instability driven by disruptions in energy supply. Yet despite this, there is no clear strategy for peace – only an open-ended commitment to further escalation.

We must be clear: this is not security. This is not defense. This is war without accountability.

We stand firmly against any further US military action in Iran. We refuse to be complicit in a war that serves political interests rather than the public good. And we call on people everywhere to mobilize, organize, and speak out immediately against this dangerous and unnecessary conflict.

If this war expands, our response must be immediate and unmistakable. Within hours, not days, we must take to the streets, organize demonstrations, and make it clear: we will not accept another endless war carried out in our name.

The time for silence has long passed.
