Palantir to Move HQ Out of Denver, DAWA Celebrates Victory in Campaign

Today, Denver Anti-War Action celebrates a huge victory in our ongoing campaign against Palantir.

This morning, Palantir quietly announced that their headquarters location would be leaving our city in favor of what they hope to be a friendlier political climate in Miami, Florida.

This announcement comes after over a year of direct actions and local pressure applied by Denver activists, workers and community members such as Denver Anti-War Action, Against Machines Collective, Denver DSA, SEIU, constituent organizations of the Colorado Palestine Coalition, local immigrants’ rights groups, and many, many others.

We are proud to add to an already rich history of forcing Palantir out of our communities with people power. Denver is the second city in a row to send Palantir packing after sustained activism, with Silicon Valley being the first. We know that fierce struggle will follow Palantir wherever it goes – because the people will not allow AI to be used for genocide, surveillance, or deportation anywhere! Denver Anti-War Action is excited to arm our friends in Florida with all the lessons we’ve learned to bolster their fight against this AI supervillain.

A few facts are very important to understand at this moment. One, this is proof that coordinated and collaborative action by the people is the most effective means of creating a better world. In Denver, Palantir faced regular and varied disruptions at their office locations in both Downtown Denver, and more recently in Cherry Creek, with hundreds marching to condemn Palantir’s operations in the city.

Politicians who tried to work with them were exposed, repeatedly confronted by their constituents, and recently were compelled to give away the political donations they had pocketed from Palantir executives. We thank national campaigns like Purge Palantir for helping to show these behind-the-scenes connections between Palantir and politicians around the country.

Palantir can keep trying to run and hide from the people, but activists will be there to meet them wherever they crop up to oblige them in this game of War-Criminal-Whack-A-Mole until Palantir is not just driven out of our communities, but brought to justice in front of the world.

While the fight is not completely over, since Palantir may very well keep an office open in our city, we see their decision to move Palantir’s headquarters 2,000 miles away as a huge victory. We thank our friends and allies in this work and we are proud to have come this far.

We see clearly that when we fight, we win
